Botanical Intelligence,
Carried with Care.

Every ingredient in a LUMAE formula is chosen for its meaning — not its novelty. We source from French botanical traditions with centuries of observed efficacy, refine through science, and formulate with restraint. What remains is only what serves.

Provence, France

Lavender & Rosemary

The high plateaus of Provence have cultivated lavender and rosemary for generations — not as ornament, but as medicine. Lavandula angustifolia, grown at altitude, develops a finer, more concentrated oil than lowland varieties. Rosmarinus officinalis has been used for centuries to support circulation and scalp vitality. Both bring documented restorative properties to LUMAE formulas.

What Provence has refined over centuries, we do not presume to improve — only to carry forward with fidelity.

Grasse, France

Rosa Damascena & Centifolia

Grasse has been the world’s centre of fine fragrance and botanical extraction since the 17th century. The Damask and Centifolia roses grown here produce some of the most prized botanical extracts available — renowned not only for their scent but for their skin-supporting properties: hydration, barrier protection, and a gentle calming action on sensitised skin.

French Alps

Alpine Edelweiss

Leontopodium alpinum — Alpine Edelweiss — grows at high altitude where UV exposure and environmental stress are extreme. To survive, the plant produces powerful protective compounds, particularly antioxidant leontopodic acids. This same protective capacity translates directly to skin care: shielding the skin from oxidative stress and supporting long-term resilience.

Loire Valley, France

Elderflower

Sambucus nigra, cultivated along the Loire, has long held a place in European botanical tradition for its toning and brightening properties. The elderflower extract used in LUMAE formulas is selected for its mild astringency and skin-clarifying qualities — refining without disrupting the skin’s natural balance.

Normandy, France

Chamomile

Matricaria chamomilla from Normandy’s cool, moist growing conditions yields an extract with particularly high azulene content — the compound responsible for chamomile’s documented anti-inflammatory and soothing effects. It is one of the most well-studied botanicals in skin care, and for LUMAE, represents the principle that the most effective ingredients are often those that have been used the longest.

Bordeaux, France

Grape — Vitis Vinifera

The Bordeaux region’s viticultural heritage produces Vitis vinifera grape seed extract recognised for its high concentration of oligomeric proanthocyanidins — among the most potent antioxidant compounds found in plants. In LUMAE formulas, grape seed extract supports skin resilience, addresses signs of environmental ageing, and contributes to a visibly refined skin tone over time.

Every origin matters. Every extraction is chosen with the same care as the ingredients themselves.
